There is nothing more meaningful, and intimate, than a ceremony at dawn with your fiancé, your son, the officiant and the photographer (well, you've gotta have a photographer, and I make a great witness!).
What can I say? This couple really put a lot of thought and planning into their UP themed wedding. The ceremony was at the local Wesleyan Church, and the reception was at the Elk’s Club in downtown Chillicothe, OH. From the colorful balloons and decorations, to the different colored bridesmaid's dresses and the soda pins for the guys. Not a single detail was forgotten. Hopefully these pictures give you a glimpse into their unique and beautiful Love Story.
Seriously, this was one of the greatest experiences I've had as a photographer, to date. 16 great kids, several amazing local companies and individuals who stepped up to help me make this a fun experience for these kids, and an awesome team to help me pull it all off. I'm truly blessed!
Underwater photography can be for Seniors too. This is Grace, Southeastern High School Senior from the class of 2018 and she ROCKED her underwater session!
I'm so excited to have 16 amazing students from the class of 2019 as my representatives this year. They come from 12 different area schools and each one impresses the socks off of me with their involvement in their schools and communities. These reps get to participate in free photo sessions, get free images and earn lots of free stuff! It's good to be a Senior Rep for Victoria Schafer Photography!
LOVED this location, the family, the bridal party...the whole experience. Below are a few of my favorite moments...they include dad's reaction to seeing Ashley in her dress, Randy's reaction during their "first look" and seeing her walk down the aisle, some awesome bridal party shots, ceremony pictures and even a few downtown pictures before the reception. The last photo is one of my absolute favorite....the bride's reaction to throwing the bouquet. I think I've counted at least 50 cute facial expressions on this girl! LOVE!!!

Reception: Madison South (Covington, KY)
Boy was it cold on November 10th, but these two were troopers! They got married at such a lovely place, too. Little Brook Meadows in Lancaster, Ohio is a lovely venue for weddings. Even winter ones! I think my favorite aspect of the entire day was when they shared their very spiritual and moving vows with each other prior to the ceremony, and then when they took communion together by the cross, during the ceremony. They were truly a testament to their love for God and putting Him first in their lives and marriage. It was beautiful. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek of their wedding images. Feel free to share.
I absolutely loved photographing Amanda and Aaron’s wedding at Crockett Run in Logan, Ohio. Having the hills and exposed stone all around made for such a perfect venue for an intimate wedding.
Hayley and Taylor's wedding was nothing short of a Fairy Tale wedding, complete with a prince and a princess. Throughout the day, people would refer to these two in that way, and it couldn't be more true. It was such a treat to spend the day with this couple, and their families. Below you'll find some images from their special day.
If you're asking this question, the answer is probably NOW.
On July 15th I was super excited to photograph the marriage of Mackenzie and Steven at Mackenzie's parent's home. I had already been out there once before, to get the lay of the land. I already knew it was a beautiful property, and was excited to see that dad had unknowingly cleared a great spot for us to take family and bridal party photos in front of the old barn. The only challenge was going to be the setting sun, so I had to bring some of my lighting with me to counteract the sunshine behind the bride and groom during the ceremony...but that's why you hire a professional, and not a friend with a "good camera". We get the job done! :)
The highlight of the evening was the Dancing Dude (also a groomsman) who, just as I was promised during our wedding consultation, boogied on the dance floor all night long. I don't think that the DJ got more than 5 or 6 notes from the first song played before Dude was out there, cutting a rug. Not long after that, the tie came off and was strategically placed around the head. LOVED IT! Dude, you rocked it!
The thing that made it the most enjoyable, though, other than the obvious love that Mackenzie and Steven shared was that they trusted me to just "do my thing", and put enough time into the schedule to do just that. We took funny pictures, we got some great serious ones, and we had fun doing it. This one goes in the books as a favorite, for sure. Thanks guys!
And fun was had by all, well into the night. What a great wedding. I told Mackenzie that while I love my job, and I do enjoy photographing weddings, but I rarely do I have as much fun as I did her wedding. It was fun, from beginning to end...and I even got a nifty little party favor...the coolest coozie ever!
Beautiful couple...check! Beautiful day...check! Beautiful ceremony...check! Beautiful venue...check! Everything was absolutely picture perfect the entire day. The best part, though, was that I absolutely love this couple, and their families. I've known the Bride's family for several years now, and we share many mutual friends. It was super important to me to be a part of their special day, and to help them get the best possible pictures of the most important day of Lauren & Kyle's life.
I am so excited to share my ever expanding collection of maternity gowns available for your use. In addition to skirts, tutus and other wardrobe of choice, I offer eight beautiful maternity gowns for all shapes and sizes. Most gowns are "one size fits all", but some have less forgiving fabric, so we will discuss your needs prior to your appointment. For more information about maternity sessions, click HERE.
I truly adore this location. I can't wait to see it green up this Spring. Even now, with no leaves and the grass nearly dead, it's beautiful. I have plans to plant some wildflowers once there's no chance of a freeze...and away from the crops and any chance of getting plowed down. I still haven't decided where to plan them...there are so many options. :) Here are five shots from around the farm.
I can't pick my favorite picture, can you? :D
